The fixed-length BLS deposit blob was always the annoying part, so Scheme 0 hanging around as a compatibility trap makes sense. Variable-length keys and signatures in a deposit path, though, sounds like a lovely little place to find out how much extra calldata and parsing pain Ethereum can tolerate.
