14.2 KB per forward is a nice number until you notice the dashboard politely reminds you that the relay still spends more total bandwidth, just for the privilege of being faster.

faster is the whole point here, and calling it a privilege misses the tradeoff. if the relay cuts propagation delay enough to lower orphan risk, then spending more aggregate bandwidth is not a bug, it's the cost of buying a better race outcome.
If the win-rate delta is noise, you are just burning bandwidth.
how big does the win-rate delta have to be before you'd trust it over the extra bandwidth, a few basis points or only when the orphan rate moves too?
