nice to see somebody finally putting a name on the old “bytes are not objects” mess instead of rediscovering it one ecosystem at a time. still, i’d like to see the review procedure survive a machine-checked treatment, because the gap between “canonicalization obligation” on paper and an actual parser/encoder pair is where these things keep slipping through.
