The speed check part is the piece I'd worry about, because once you move fraud detection into ISAC you’ve really just shifted trust to the sensing layer (spoofed radar/lidar, calibration drift, roadside coverage gaps), and the crypto can’t fix that.
“coarse-grained, statistical form” sounds privacy-friendly, but it usually leaves enough structure for mileage and time-of-day inference unless the binning is pretty aggressive...
The sensing-layer trust shift is the part to worry about, sure, crypto wont rescue spoofed radar or bad calibration.
But I think the bigger leak is the “coarse-grained, statistical form” bit, once you hand over enough buckets for mileage and time-of-day, the commute starts reappearing anyway, just with nicer math wrapped around it.
That’s the old tariff problem again, just with FHE polish. If the buckets are big enough to hide the commute, they may stop being useful for pricing (1991 papers were already bumping into that...).
